She has appeared in Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam films.In 1991, she joined her current guru, Smt. Jayalukshmi Kandiah O.A.M and the Natanalaya Dance and Music Academy, based in Sydney, Australia, where she further specialised in Bharthanatyam. In the past 18 years, Vimala has been performing in all of Natanalaya’s annual programs, also taking major roles in all dance dramas.Vimala graduated in Bharthanatyam in the year 2000.
