Tamannaah Bhatia is an Indian film actress and model. She has appeared in Tamil films and Hindi films. In 2005, she made her acting debut in her only Hindi film so far, Chand Sa Roshan Chehra, before working in the major South Indian film industries.

In 2005 she made her Telugu debut in Sri, and in the following year she appeared in her first Tamil film, Kedi. In 2007, she starred in two college-life-based drama films, Happy Days in Telugu and Kalloori in Tamil, which both earned her criticalacclaim. Following commercial successes with Padikathavan (2009), Ayan (2009) and Paiyaa (2010), she established herself as one of the leading contemporary actresses in the Tamil film industry. She also has experience as a model and has appeared in various television advertisements.
Tamannaah was born on 21 December 1995 in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India to a Sindhi-speaking couple, Santosh Bhatia and Rajni Bhatia. She did her schooling in Maneckji Cooper Education Trust School, Juhu, Mumbai.

Tamannaah started her acting career in 2005 when she played a heroine in Chand Sa Roshan Chehra, a Hindi film. It remains her only Bollywood release to date. The same year, she debuted in Telugu cinema in Sri, playing the leading female role opposite Manoj Kumar. In 2006, she made her debut in the Tamil film industry as a heroine starring in Kedi, which was produced by A. M. Rathnam, along with Ravi Krishna and another newcomer, Ileana D'Cruz.
In 2007, she had three releases. After her appearance in the unsuccessful Vyapari, she starred in the Sekhar Kammula-directed TeluguHappy Days, which received positive reviews and became her first major box office success. Her next release was the Tamil drama film Kalloori, directed by Balaji Sakthivel, that won her accolades andcritical acclaim in Tamil as well.

In 2008, she again had three releases, but appeared in cameo roles in two of them. Her 2009 blockbuster Tamil film Ayan made her a leading star. Her recent film Kandein Kadhalai, which is a remake of the 2007 Hindi blockbuster Jab We Met, was considered a moderate success. She took the role originally played by Kareena Kapoor and was praised by critics for her performance.

She is currently acting in two Tamil films: Thillalangadi, alongside Jayam Ravi, and an untitled remake of the Telugu blockbuster Vikramarkudu, again alongside Karthik Sivakumar.

Shruti Rajalakshmi Haasan was born to actors Kamal Haasan and Sarika on 8 April 1985 in Chennai, India. She also has a younger sister named Akshara, who represents India nationally for Ballroom Latin dancing.

Haasan shifted her focus to cinema and music, and eventually travelled to the USA to continue to learn music at the Musicians Institute in California, before returning to Chennai.

Shruti won accolades for her singing performance in Ilayaraaja's music album. Shruti Hassan considers herself fortunate enough to have got an opportunity to sing with legendary singer K J Yesudas for the movie 'En Mana Vaanil' in the song 'Roattorap paattuch chaththam'. Shruti has also sung under the composition of Harris Jayaraj for Gautham Menon's Tamil film 'Vaaranam Aayiram'.

Shruti made her acting debut at an age of fourteen in a cameo appearance in critically acclaimed 'Hey Ram'. Directed by her father, Kamal Hassan, 'Hey Ram' was a biopic of Mahatma Gandhi, wherein Shruti was played the character of Vallabhbhai Patel's daughter. Shruti refused a number of South Indian films including a lead role in Venkat Prabhu's 'Saroja'.
Shruti signed Nishikanth Kamath's 'Endrendrum Punnagai' opposite R. Madhavan that later got shelved prior to production. Shruti was later seen in Soham Shah's 'Luck' alongside Imran Khan, Mithun Chakrobarty, Ravi Kishen, among others. Shruti Haasan, has most recently sung in a Tamil film, for Gautham Menon's Vaaranam Aayiram under the composition of Harris Jayaraj. As of November 2008, Haasan is also midway through her untitled debut album, which she has composed, written and sung, and is set for release in mid-2009.
After pursuing a career in singing, Shruti Haasan branched out a career into modelling. She started by starring appearing in the Frappe! magazine version of September 2007, since then she has gone on to appear in Verve.

In 2000, Haasan made her cinematic debut in the Tamil and Hindi bilingual film, Hey Ram, directed by her father. She made a cameo appearance as the daughter of Vallabhai Patel in the biopic of Mahatma Gandhi.

After rejecting prominent film offers, most notably the lead role in Venkat Prabhu's Saroja, reports suggested in late 2007 that Haasan was set to make her full debut as a heroine in 2008 with a movie opposite Madhavan directed by Nishikanth Kamath. Despite Madhavan admitting that the news "was premature", she signed up to the film, which was titled, Endrendrum Punnagai, only to be stalled prior to production. Eventually Haasan signed up to Soham Shah's Luck opposite Imran Khan, a Bollywood film.
